Meet Elliott McNeese, Senior Systems Engineer at Tait

A veteran of the United States Navy, Elliott is focused on attention to detail while working as part of a team and brings the core values of Commitment to Listen, Courage to Act and Integrity to Deliver into all aspects of his daily work. He joined the Tait Team in June 2022, and his role will see him pursuing new business and supporting current customers. We’re excited to see the impact of his efforts in the months and years to come.

We asked Elliott a few questions to get to know him a little better:

What is something about you that most folks don’t know?

I play a mean guitar.

What do you like most about your job?

Finding solutions that work for our customers.

What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?

The flow of voice audio from a radio unit in the field to another radio unit in the field on a trunked radio system.

If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring?

A solar-powered Satcom phone, desalination kit, rations.

What advice would you provide to someone interested in becoming a Systems Engineer?

Find a mentor that can help to guide you. Do not be afraid to ask questions of folks that you work with, both within the company and externally. I’ve found that many people are more than willing to help someone learn when they are asked a question.

Given the opportunity, what would you like to ask our Founder, Sir Angus Tait?

What was your most memorable moment during your time in service with the RAF?

Do you have a favourite quote or parting words you’d like to end on?

Be kind. You never know when someone is having a bad day, and a little bit of kindness could be what turns it around for them.
