Meet Matt Jordan, Senior Project Manager at Tait

As a clear communicator who thrives on organization, Matt is a natural project manager, but his technical experience with wireless systems allows him to provide next-level support to the projects on his roster. He joined the Tait team in May 2022 and is already working hard on supporting a variety of LMR and DMR projects across North America.

We’re excited to have Matt on our team and look forward to seeing the impact of his project management skills in the months and years to come!

“Communication is a skill that you can learn. If you’re willing to work at it, you can improve the way you work and live. Communicating effectively will ensure that you deliver a project where everyone understands where the team stands.”

We asked Matt a few questions to get to know him a little better:

How would you explain your job to a group of kindergarteners?

I’d start by explaining what a project is: a unique set of tasks with a beginning and an end. The project manager is the person who pushes a team to the end goal.

What brought you to Tait?

The connections that I have made in my career brought me to Tait. A big part of being a successful Project Manager is building relationships inside and outside of a project. My decision to come to Tait was based on learning through those relationships about the great people we have here and looking forward to working with those folks.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

My 19, 18 and 8 year old children keep me pretty busy. Outside of that, I am a huge fan of Appalachian State in all sports. I am a part of a great tailgate group called the Library Deck. We tailgate at all home games and a few away games every season.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

The ability to teleport anywhere in the world. There are so many great places and things to see in this world, and if you could cut travel time down, you could see and experience so much more.

What is one professional skill you are actively developing?

Working on my Kanban skills. Using Kanban as a project management system has been beneficial to me in my professional career. I’d like to become an expert in that methodology.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned during your time as a Senior Project Manager at Tait?

I have and will continue to learn what it means to be “on the other side of the table” in the project space. I have spent much of my career as a customer—it’s been a learning experience to see it from the perspective of a vendor.
